Tue – narrowing topic; Ch. 9 P.215 – 224 Wed – Ch. 9 discussion; audience and occasion; P. 225- 235: supporting the thesis Thu – informative speech preparation/extemporaneous speeches Fri – informative speech prep/extemporaneous speeches   ELA 7A:  This week we wrap up our adjective unit and move into sentence types; students will continue literature circles with Ender’s Game and prepare for a persuasive essay. Tue – Adj. review; novel discussion Wed – adj. review; PLATO Thu – adj. test; types of sentences; intro to persuasive writing Fri – persuasive essays; reading   Reading 8:  This week students will continue literature circles with The Hunger Games and will explore topic ideas for a unit project and essay subjects Tue – Ch. 18 discussion; news articles (sports and feature writing); project ideas Wed – news articles due; assign Ch. 19 – 20 Thu – persuasion and seeing the other side’s point of view Fri – reading and writing day   Creative Writing:  This week students will work on specific skills in preparation for writing a one act play. Tue – the neutral play Wed – the monologue Thu – creating a focused dramatic scene Fri – the story goal and plot map
