Speech: This week students will begin analyzing how to choose subjects, narrow
the focus of the topic, write thesis sentences, and begin to put it all together. Students will also begin
extemporaneous speeches.

up our adjective unit and move into sentence types; students will continue literature circles with Ender’s Game and
prepare for a persuasive essay.

Creative Writing:
This week students will work on specific skills in preparation for writing a one act play.
