Dear Parents,
I'm very excited about this school year and
our Spanish classes. I love teaching Spanish! Foreign language is one of the only subjects where high school students still
get to color, sing, and play games on a regular basis while still engaging in serious academics. I anticipate that our classes
will only continue to improve.
You can expect that each student in Spanish will have almost daily homework. It's very much like math
in that it is important to keep up; material builds upon and continues to use what was learned earlier. If students let themselves
slide, they are likely to have problems later. You can also expect that time will be given at the end of each class to begin
homework so I can check students’ comprehension, and that most homework will be assigned full credit just for trying
and completing the work on time. Students' grades are determined by completion of on-time homework, class participation,
and by performance on weekly quizzes or tests.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at 347-2411, or e-mail me at lmaroe@mvsd11.org.
Sincerely, Mrs. Maroe
