1)         Correctly use either the preterite or the imperfect for repeated or habitual actions, actions completed at specific times or for a specific number of times, time, age or for saying how long ago something happened in the past, plus use for actions in progress with interruptions, and use the preterite for a beginning or ending in the past. (See p.G53-55 and G57-58.)

2)      Correctly conjugate –ir stem-changing (“boot”) verbs in the preterite, as well as previously used preterite verbs. (See p.G60)
