Mr. Johnson’s Shop and Computer Class Rules & Expectations

 

I.              Classroom Expectations

  1. Be ON TIME and PREPARED.
  2. No electronic devices allowed: cell phones, or i-pods.
  3. Students must raise their hand at all times for questions and answers.
  4. Show RESPECT to Mr. Johnson, everyone in the classroom and to all equipment.
  5. No FOOD and DRINKS IN the classroom.   NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!
  6. NO HORSE PLAY ALLOWED during the class or in the SHOP.
  7. Follow Direction the first time.
  8. Every student must ask permission to use shop equipment.
  9. Do not disturb fellow students!
  10. SAFETY, SAFETY, SAFETY.

II.            General Discipline Procedures

A.      Warning

B.       DETENTION & principal and/or parent notification

C.      Phone call home/Conference with principal

D.     Possible removal from class ( no credit)

*** Insubordination or very inappropriate behavior will result in immediate removal from class*** The teacher reserves the right to make judgment on all behaviors displayed because of safety of everyone.

III.           Tardiness

A.      You will be considered tardy if you are not in the classroom when the tardy bell rings. Continual tardiness will result in an unexcused absence from class.

IV.           Leaving the Classroom

A. Must have written permission from teacher, and sign out and back in.

V.            Grading

  1. A total point system is used.
  2. Semester final will count 10% of overall grade

VI.           Classroom Assignments

  1. Students will be given points for showing up prepared for class every day.
  2. Homework will always be due at the beginning of class.
  3. Students are allowed to retake a test if they do not like their score. They lose that opportunity if we move to another chapter.  THIS IS YOUR RESPONSIBIITY, NOT MINE!  
  4. Students will be given the same amount of time to make up missed work as they were absent.
  5. TESTS will be made up at my convenience.
  6. CHEATING will result in a zero for that assignment.
